Roger Hubbard , vocalist, guitarist & songwriter, started his career in the sixties, forming his own Brighton Blues Club on England's south coast in 1967. Roger's first love was Delta style blues and in 1970 he recorded his first solo album "Brighton Belle Blues" which made him well known on the then thriving British blues scene, as well as in the USA. In the mid-70s, having acquired his distinctive sounding 1935 National Duolian steel-bodied guitar, he went on to form 'Delta Wing' with amongst others Jon Cleary, now a well respected pianist performing in the USA with the likes of Bonnie Raitt and Taj Mahal. In 1989 Roger got together with bass guitarist Colin Gibson and percussionist Liam Genockey and,

taking their name from a Bob Dylan song, formed the group Buick 6. The band still plays occasional gigs, as and when all the members are free, given their other commitments.

Roger has always enjoyed a kind of "cult status" in the UK, as well as the USA, Australia and many European countries, amongst others. In fact ABC, Australia's national radio station has twice had Roger as featured artist on its daily "Planet" programme. Territories Radio of Darwin was instrumental in tracking Roger down for a fan who had been searching for him for 18 years.   This resulted in Roger being interviewed and playing his National by phone live on the air.

Roger has continued to play solo, as well as doing duo gigs with singer/guitarist, Louis Turpin and double bassist, Pete Shaw.   He is also in demand as a session musician and has contributed slide guitar and mandolin to recordings by the likes of Ben Andrews and Geoff Achison, as well as some lesser known bands. One of Roger's songs, "Homelovin' Man" was recently selected by Eric Bibb for inclusion on his album, "Natural Light".

"Homelovin' Man" is one of the tracks on the follow-up to "Brighton Belle Blues", namely "Danger Deep Mud" recorded in 2003.   The whole album was recorded "live" in the studio and features Roger completely solo on vocals, 6 and 12-string acoustic, National and Hub resolectric guitars, mandolin and stomp-board.

Work has now started on a follow-up to "Danger Deep Mud" which is to be more of a band-based album, featuring various musicians and mainly self-penned songs.   Roger is determined not to rush the recording, preferring to lay down a track or two at a time, so don't expect an early release!
